Gough Square, the home of Samuel Johnson and the First comprehensive English Dictionary.

Built in 1700 Gough Square is a beautifuly preserved square tucked away in the city, it still has gas street lights. Home and work place of Samuel Johnson, it was here that he single handedly compiled the first comprehensive English Dictionary, a task that took him 9 years.
